What is GID?

Glass is a material which often triggers feelings of awe, fear, intimidation and wonder in its viewers. Most of the time the public has only limited interactions with glass in terms of handling functional wear or viewing glass art on a pedestal. Glass artists create brilliant vessels or marvelous sculptures that can only be seen from a distance because they are fragile and one of a kind. GID believes glass should be more approachable, more interactive with the viewer. It should come off the pedestal and into a new space. Using installation and mixed media, GID creates and assembles site specific environments using glass as a vehicle for interaction and intrigue. Blown glass has a certain beauty that is not achieved by other materials. It is this medium that is challenged by GID through its design and content
